The Spring Cleaning

Most of us are opening up our windows and letting the fresh air come in while doing our spring cleaning. Well, here's a poem for a little different kind of spring cleaning that is just as necessary, if not more so, for our life that I hope you'll enjoy:

Now open up the windows of the heart,
And let the sunshine penetrate the gloom;
Clear out the fears and doubts that grimly start
Like ghosts within the mind's dim haunted room.

Brush out the cobwebs that your malice worught,
And sweep away the grudges that you bear;
Replace each petty and ungracious thought
With one that is forgiving, true, and fair.

And when the task is finished, you will find
That happiness is destined to remain
Within the sunlit room of heart and mind,
And know your work has not been done in vain.

Have a beautiful day,
Donna
